What I loved in August

September 1, 2014

always smiling

YNAB. I just discovered this You Need a Budget program at the end of July. I immediately downloaded it and put it into action for August. I LOVE it. I downloaded the free trial but I am going to buy the program I love it that much. It is really helping to organize our budget in a way that the envelope system never did. (includes affiliate link)

The Bullet Journal. I am so excited about trying this. I keep several moleskin journals for notes on books and just general journaling, but this takes it to a whole new level. If you like to make lists, you’ll love this.

Running with friends. This one sounds like a no brainer, but when I started running two years ago I had no one to run with me. I started couch to 5 K over again after the 5K I ran in June because I had never run a full 5K without stopping and thought it might help me reach that goal. I found two friends who wanted to do it with me and we have loved the encouragement and accountability of running with friends. Makes it so much easier to stay committed to those goals!

The five minute rule. This is nothing new but I just started using it for everything from reading my bible to doing laundry. I tell myself I only have to do it for 5 minutes. This makes it so much easier to get started and then, usually once I start, I end up going much longer than five minutes. It’s a simple mind trick, but I fall for it every time.

What did you love in August?

That bullet journal video was great! I wish I could get that organized!

The five-minute rule is so helpful, isn’t it? I use it often. And then I forget. And then I use it again. lol

I’m visiting from the link-up at Chatting at the Sky.

    Have a beautiful day!

Alright. I’ve heard from several people now about the Bullet Journal. I think you just pushed me over the edge to try it.

Another reader loving the bullet journal. Thanks for sharing. Your site is beautiful ( I think I’ll take 5 minutes to peruse) as are your photos. Visiting from Emily’s site.
