Petit Jean Mountain, Arkansas State Park

February 19, 2013

This fall our family took a trip to Petit Jean State Park in Arkansas. I get the urge to hike and see Arkansas’ foliage around October and November and it was a beautiful time to travel the Arkansas roads. It had been about 5 years since we had taken the kids to the state park and we remembered some of our favorite hikes and found them again. They had forgotten so much of it, it was fun to relieve it with them again and introduce it to the younger kids.

They loved the rock formations, the caves, and the beautiful views. As they get older I hope we can do some of the more ambitious hikes, but for now we stayed with easy and short.

If you’re looking for a fun family trip and have never visited Petit Jean, it’s a great park to visit.
