I use my iPhone a lot for everyday photos. I don’t always post my images to Instagram, but when I do I almost always edit them with one of my favorite editing apps.
I’ve tried a lot of apps. I’ve tried Cameramatic, Dynamic Light, and Snapseed, but the one I’ve used the longest and keep coming back to is Afterlight. It is my favorite editing app. That said, I will occasionally try an image in VSCO.cam, but mostly because it’s just so popular with other Instagrammers that I feel like I’m not using it right, so I keep giving it another shot. But the truth is Afterlight gets it right for me almost every single time. Camera plus I keep because I can set a timer to take a photo with it.

I love how I can use filters and adjust settings like exposure and temperature all in one app. I can also crop, add a frame and sometimes I like to add a cool light leak. It has all the options I want in one app.
Another recent favorite find is Over. This app adds text to your photos and I use it for a lot of the photo + text images I create for blogging. It’s just sometimes easier than pulling a photo into photoshop and adding text.
Using apps is just another easy way to tell your story with images. Have you tried them?
