Yesterday we pulled off another senior model session. It always seems miraculous when it’s over, that we actually got it done. Even more so this year since we wear working under a 50% chance of rain forecast.
I start planning this months in advance. I think about the location, the look and feel I want, how it will work. What I don’t really put a lot of thought into is how their hair will look, their outfits, or even their make-up. And that is because I have a wonderful behind-the-scenes team that does all that for me! I could not do this senior model session without them. The hair stylist, make-up artist, clothing coordinator, the hostess, the great guy who goes after the food for me, they all make this day possible.
We coordinated 12 people’s schedules and chose the date, then found out there was a huge rain chance. We prayed, a lot, and went on faith. The rain held off until we wrapped things up for the day. Success!
This year we were hosted by my cousin in her new home in El Dorado, Arkansas. She and her husband have beautiful property that we used as many of the backdrops and we also were able to use the amazing downtown El Dorado.
We laughed all day. From the moment we pulled out of the driveway, till we strapped a canoe on the top of my suburban, and kept laughing throughout the day as the boys kept the photos interesting.
I can’t wait to share these photos with you. These kids were so much fun to hang out with. If they came away from this session saying that they had a fun day, then it was a success to me.
The senior model session is always a fun way to energize and kick-off the new year of senior photography. Look for some behind the scenes videos, photos, and more photos coming up in the next few weeks and ways to save on your own senior session.
