I’ve used a planner for years. I’ve got them all stacked in a box in my closet. When I homeschooled my kids, I tracked each day and wrote down details, what we did, where we went, funny things the kids said, as a way of keeping record.
It wasn’t until about 3 years ago that I started setting goals for myself. At first my goals were oriented around my oils business: how much I wanted to grow, ranks I wanted to achieve, but something changed last year when I started listening to a few podcasts that opened my eyes to changing things about me.
Every morning while putting on my make up I listen to a podcast. This is how I start my day and I’ve come to love it. Positive words set the tone for the rest of my day and it’s helped me learn how to think differently.
I’m continuing this theme for 2020 and adding a few things that I’m really excited about. And, I switched planners. This year I chose the day designer and so far I really like it.
So, on to the podcasts.
Let’s start with Edie Wadsworth who has been a mentor to me for several years. This year she started a podcast and a life mentoring school. I joined her mentoring school and I’m working on improving my thoughts. This has been so good in all areas of my life. You can find her here.
Next, I discovered The Life Coach School podcast. It’s very similar ideas to Edie’s teaching so it goes together very well. There are so many helpful recordings that I feel like could help anyone. You definitely need to add it to your life.
For 2020 I’m adding something new. It’s called The Bible Recap app and it is a plan to read through the bible chronologically in one year. Then, you listen to the recap on this app. The whole thing takes about 20-30 minutes and if you download the bible app, you can even have the chapter read to you if you are driving or putting on makeup as I happen to be doing most mornings.
This way, I can get God’s word in my ears first thing in the morning.
I’m so excited about 2020. I hope you will check out some of these tools.
