Baby Lane

March 30, 2015

maternity session

First we did a maternity session for Lane’s parents. His daddy was a reluctant participant. Things really changed when Lane got here. Now his daddy doesn’t want to miss a thing. I loved spending time with this sweet baby and his adoring new parents. It’s such an exciting time and just the beginning of their amazing story together. I’m so grateful I could help give them a few precious memories of these early days.

Addison’s senior session

July 22, 2014

senior girl wildflowers

This sweet young lady was playing in the church nursery with my oldest child in what seems like just yesterday. Time has gone by so quickly. I’ve gotten to watch her grow up in our church and what a wonderful young lady she has become. I’m honored to know her family and have them as neighbors. It was so much fun to get to take her senior pictures inside the studio that once was her great-grandfather’s store. We started inside the studio and made our way around the neighborhood, in my own backyard and at her grandparent’s old home place, in a swing her grandfather built just for her. Congratulations Addison!

Celebrate their birthdays

May 31, 2014

portfolio

I started offering birthday sessions this year for past clients’ children in the studio. I wanted these sessions to be very personal so I encourage clients to bring in their child’s favorite things at this time in their lives. I want them to look back on these portraits and remember their five year old’s obsession with superheros, his favorite jeans, and cowboy boots.

I wanted to create a memory of that special age when they are like mini hoarders carrying around not one passy, but 2 or 3, a bottle, and all of her favorites, so many things that when you pick her up those things start to fall, but you have to pick them back up because she demands all the favorite things at once, because she’s two.

And the nine year old who is becoming focused on the things he enjoys like his favorite books and video games, the fact that he has a thing for maps, especially the United States.

Because next year, things just might change. That superhero costume may be too babyish, and that passy may be gone for good, and certainly they will all be another year older and more mature.

So let’s stop time, just for a few minutes with pictures. And celebrate the way they are right now.
