It has been an unusual Christmas this year. I got sick about a week before Christmas, with what I guess is the flu because it took me an entire week to recover and I’m still getting in regular naps during the days. Once that hit things kind of began to slide. I didn’t finish mailing out Christmas cards, never got some gifts I’d bought out of the car until it was time to hand them out, and left all the wrapping till the last minute.
By the time Christmas Eve got here I was way behind, but feeling better. We had rescheduled one of our Christmas gatherings because other family members were also sick. So I spent Christmas Eve day playing catch up while my husband took the kids out in the woods. I wrapped and cooked and by the time we got to the Christmas party I could barely keep my eyes open.
In between the cheer, I’ve spend a lot of time reading while the kids put together new Lego sets. I’ve got a few books to tell you about before I forget them. I’ll try to get around to that soon. In spite of passing around sickness, we had a good time. We’ve had so many lazy days lately I’m not sure we’ll ever get back to normal.
We had another unusual event Christmas night, snow! The kids were thrilled, but not me. Snow makes me want to hibernate. I hate being cold. I always go out to get a few pictures then run back inside to get warm and thank God that I live in a mostly warm area.
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!
